So if I force myself to stay in bed for the first sleepless hour or two, *eventually* I will doze off.

Right. Get any sleep you can now, cos bubba will be waking you up a lot more when he gets here!
I had sleeplessness, but I don't anymore! Now, I even fall asleep when he's nursing! Tada! It all comes back! ;o)
