On Bats

I found a giant gummy bat at the bottom of a drawer when I was looking for my passport.

Yeeeeeep.

Monster shall like living with us indeed.

I have no idea how long it has been there.

Heather

My friend Heather is *so* excited but she is going to *kill* me when she finds out I've been reading books.

*busts out laughing*

I'm sorry, Heather!
I'm not scared yet...if that counts for anything?

New Vitamins

Oh!
My mother-in-law went to see her doctor (crazy mad natural organic dude!) and got me some new pre-natals.
I'm pretty excited by it...this guy sounds really amazing and I know his selection will be better than what I picked out!

Squee!

*gurgle*

Today...slept...a lot.

*yawn*

Played Brennen Reece music to Brennen Reece Junior.
That's pretty trippy, no?
Or at least it felt trippy at the time.
Playing of self to little self, vibration to vibration, atom to atom.

Week Five

Week 5: Teeny tiny baby steps

Fetal development in pregnancy week 5:
The changes to your growing embryo are not quite as drastic this week as they've been in the last few weeks. Growth is now largely focused on their little head, which is starting to develop much more rapidly than the rest of their tiny body. This is because their amazing brain is undergoing some very crucial and rapid development in order to effectively regulate their heart rate, blood circulation, and other vital functions. As for the rest of their miniature body, what were simple limb buds last week are limb flippers this week and the tail is more expressed. Amazingly, within a mere five weeks your little miracle is already developing the rudimentary forms of their liver, pancreas, lungs, stomach and nasal pits while their little heart is already increasing its circulation. Your baby is now a whopping 4-6mm in length.

And how's mom doing? Your body is still adjusting to the increased amount of hormones and you are probably pretty much experiencing the same symptoms as last week. Still, some women will start feeling the joys of morning sickness set in this week. Don’t worry if your areolas are darkening this is a perfectly normal response to the hormonal changes in your body.

Also start having someone else changing the kitty litter for you.

*

Well what do you know? Someone else *is* changing the kitty litter for me.
Women don't glow during pregnancy because of the baby...they glow because their husbands are so freaking fantastic.

Environmentally Friendly

I think we're going to do it.
Cloth nappies.
I think we're going to try.

Not only is it akabillion times better for the environment, but it is also better for baby.

And really, if you want to have a kid, you should want to get your hands dirty...right?

Please look after the earth.

Oh, Leonardo!

Oh, Leonardo!
I love you so.

Handing Over The Reins

Yikes!
Today was the first day somebody else spraypainted my works.
You guessed it!
Daddy doesn't want any chemicals near his unborn...

Awwww.
So much love in the air right now I could scream.
*heartbeat*

My Mother-In-Law

My mother-in-law stopped by!!

Mamma Can Still Saw!

Got in from running at the park and started sawing wood.
So hot and sweaty in 8am, 90 degree heat.
I cut 7 canvases, some large, some small.
Worried vaguely about Monster then decided Monster may be a carpenter and may be kicking back, grinning.

Friend, in turn, worried about me running at the park.
I did a little, too.
Just because it's such an early, *early* stage in the pregnancy.

I didn't run to the point where I was overexerted or overheated.
We jogged and walked alternatively and I will be going back to the park to jog a mile tonight.
I think if I'm sensible about it, Monster will come out jogging too.

Maybe it'll even teach aerobics on it's lunchbreak from the workshop. ;)

SillyThings I Do #1

(this will be added to, no doubt)

Whenever I feel a change in my body I imagine flowers blossoming in my womb. Only they are they flowers I paint on paintings, I see them bloom.

No Deep Diving?

Boy says no deep diving in the bedroom.
I say WHAT?!
I'm not missing out on 9 months of fun...

We'll have to figure out a way around this!
Caution is great but living is better.

What To Expect....

After lunch boy said "do you want to go to Angels Antiques?"
I said "okay, because they have 'what to expect when -"
And he says "- I know"

Awwwwwwwwww.
Fantastic boy moment #564

Food

Well I've been taking prenatals for a couple of months now, I started taking them when we started trying. But now it's time to look at foods (being vegetarian and all) that baby will need.

It's my b vitamins that are most important.
And I'll have to eat combinations to actually have my body accept them.

The biggest attraction to me currently is hummus on whole wheat bread.
It'll have the right combinations for absorbtion and it'll be Nom Nom Nom.
I can even add sprouts and some veggies to the mix.

I think, also, I will make my own hummus.

But this only covers a small portion of what I need to look at...and you are only supposed to increase calories by approximately 300 a day....so later tonight I will draw up some sort of menu and exercise regime.

We want to do this right.
Monster needs to take over the world, so Monster better have a healthy start.

That includes m&m blasts from Sonic, right?

Telling Family And Friends

Has been the BEST part so far.
I think.
Hands down.
For sure.

I didn't know so many of my people were screamers!

My dad was grinning through his voice.
My mother-in-law squealed. And shook. And squealed again.
My step-father-in-law didn't know what to say.
My mum grinned from ear-to-ear and claimed she was going to cry. Then she started picking out granny names.
And boys grandmother *did* cry and then she started praising the lord jesus.

My girlfriends SCREAMED and jumped and hugged lots. And screamed again lots. And then hugged again.
Boys friends hugged and grinned like monkeys.

Ahhhhhhhhh.
So much fun in telling!

Groceries A No-Go

Almost immediately!
I pick up our grocery bags, as per norm, and start heading to the exit of the supermarket when I hear 'oh no you don't'. Boy runs up to me and snatches them away. This has happened twice now.
Both times I've found it incredibly amusing and my heart has pounded with love.

Boy is looking after us.
So much, in fact!

I have to google exercise and pregnancy before I keep working out.
That's a Brennen Reece order, right there.

First Reactions

Is it normal that my first reaction to finding out I was pregnant was 'I need to buy a proper gas mask'

I mean really.

But it's true!
For the first time I *really* care about the chemicals I use to spray my art with.
And won't I look classy, all big and round with a mask on my face?

Oh!
Ohhhhhhhhhhh!
I'll be a 'Doctor Who' episode in the making!

Where Do I Start?

Where do I start? What do I say? What do I do?
After a glorious *cough*ahem*GLORIOUS*cough*ahem* 2 months of baby making, we finally hit the jackpot. Babypot. Egg?
On Friday, July 25th, I peed onto a stick for five seconds and then BAM! The greatest text message in the world....pregnant. Not too suprised due to the prior week of boob growth (and agony) and crazy emotions (eh, a few...on one day...it's forgivable) I sprinted from the bathroom with my little nekkid self hollaring 'baby, baby'. I was in fact meaning my darling husband, 'baby' a term of endearment, but it could have worked either way. His reaction (private and personal) was pretty fricking fantastic.
And then we danced around.
And I took photos.
Like these.
